Aaaay....Sunday..........

Hey!!!

Ok...ok...I know. I have been an extremely sad excuse of a blogger. I have been so distracted with things I haven't had the time (or in most cases I've only realized that I was supposed to write a blog at like 10pm) Things will be better next week - I swear.

I start school tomorrow - yay.......but that will not get in the way of blogging. I promise. Last night I heard an explosion and it turns out someone blew up the cashpoint (or ATM) down the road - so I witnessed a crime - sort of.

In other news - I made this amazing kale, broccoli, kiwi and mango smoothie and I think you guys should try it and maybe comment if you did try it and if you liked it or not - or comment your own smoothie recipes (I'd like to go for a healthy kind of theme please).

Kale, Broccoli, Kiwi & Mango Smoothie

You will need :
125 ml water
Some broccoli flourishes (is that what you call them?)
1/2 of a mango
1 kiwi
A handful of curly kale (with the stem/stalk separated)
A handful of ice cubes (optional)
A good blender

  1. Wash the vegetables and peel the fruit (if you want to leave the mango skin on make sure you wash it - but I wouldn't recommend it).
  2. Cut your mango in half (if that hasn't been done already) and dice/slice that and the other ingredients. Rip the kale up if you have big pieces.
  3. Add all of the fruit (don't worry if it doesn't all fit, once it's blended there will be space for anything that didn't fit).
  4. If you are adding ice make sure that that goes in last - on the first time that you're blending (if you have to blend twice)
  5. Make sure the blender lid is securely fixed and blend until it is smooth and drinkable (you don't want big lumps of ice etc). I used the Nutri Ninja Blender so it was a really fast blending process.
  6. Pour into a nice glass, add a straw, photograph (if necessary) and drink!

It should look a bit like this one...
My camera made the smoothie to look greener that it actually looks - so it wont be as green as this picture if you use the right proportions.

Don't feel like you're limited to those ingredients only - or those specific measurements. Add ingredients to make your preferred taste. And if you do add or take away ingredients let me know in the comments because I would really like to make more smoothies!

That's it
